The new star on the Danish racing scene
GMB Motorsport is the new star on the Danish racing scene. We have a clear goal of becoming the best in the country both on and off the tarmac.
During 2022, our first year as a team, we’ve already taken giant leaps towards achieving that goal, winning the team-championship in both the international racing series Le Mans Cup and the national TCR Denmark. Along with the victory in the Le Mans Cup the team qualified for both 24H Le Mans and the European Le Mans Series in 2023, one year earlier than the original objective.
We envision becoming one of the best racing teams, not only nationally in Denmark, but on the international stage. We want to achieve this with a primarily Danish team and with Danes behind the wheel.
New man in charge to form unity
Ahead of the 2023 season, GMB Motorsport has improved the structure around the sporting side of things to keep the setup fresh and up to snuff as we add more cars and racing series to our roster. To accomplish this experienced Team Principal Henrik Lundgaard has been signed as head of operations just before the start of the season. Henrik has many years of experience and great success in both Danish and international racing as a driver, mechanic, team leader and team owner, and with his diverse background he was the perfect choice to guide the team through the planned expansions.
“I’m looking forward to getting started with this new and very ambitious project. I wasn’t looking for anything new, but after meeting the people behind the team, it was practically impossible to turn down the offer. I’m looking forward to this exciting opportunity.”
At GMB Motorsport we view the team as a complete unit, and we aim to be just as good outside of the track as on it. It’s all well and fine to have great drivers behind the wheel, but without a well-adjusted and tight-knit crew around the cars, you don’t win races. It’s very important to have accomplished personnel on all positions, and we see it as essential to find and educate young and talented mechanics and crew members to achieve the best possible results.
