20. – 22. oktober 2023
Info on the race

Europeanle mans series
European Le Mans Series, abbreviated ELMS, is an international racing series, that is competed across six races around Europe. The competition involves several classes; LMP2, LMP2 Pro/Am, LMP3 and GTE – GMB Motorsport competes in the latter for the first time with our newly bought Aston Martin Vantage GTE.
The winning car in each class earns an entry for 24H Le Mans next season. In the GTE-class we will be competing with 11 additional teams.
Le Mans Cup, abbreviated LMC, is an international series held across six European races. Both LMP3's and GT3's compete in the series - GMB Motorsport competes with two GT3-cars for the 2023 season. The class consists of 12 participating cars, where we will be joined by fellow Danish racing team, High Class Racing.
Counting the other class, LMP3, 42 cars is entered in the series, and unlike the case in 2022 it isn’t possible to win qualification for 24H Le Mans in this season’s version of the LMC.
Shortly before the start of this season, GMB Motorsport secured a remarkable addition to the team in the shape of the two-time FIA GT World Endurance Champion Nicki Thiim. Nicki is currently one of the Factory Drivers for Aston Martin Racing and has been an integral in the development of the current GTE-edition of the Aston Martin Vantage.
20-year-old Gustav Birch is the Silver Driver of the crew and has been taking significant leaps within racing these past years. Last season Gustav finished fifth in the Danish TCR-series and third in the GT3-championship of Le Mans Cup alongside Jens Reno Møller.
The crews Bronze Driver is 52-year-old Jens Reno Møller, who secured the third place in the Le Mans Cup last season alongside Gustav Birch. Jens has many years of experience in racing and participated in both the 2004 and 2006-version of 24H Le Mans.
Like in the last season we have the pleasure of filling the seat in our car no. 88 with Lars Pedersen and Jan Magnussen. Lars is once again our Bronze Driver of the crew, with whom he claimed a second-place finish in LMC last season after finishing on the podium thrice.
Being on the most prolific drivers in Danish racing these last decades, Jan Magnussen requires no introduction. Thru competing in 25 Formula One Grands Prix, victories in 24H Le Mans and the Danish DTC-class; Jan has done it all. In 2023 Jan will be attempting to take one more step up he ladder on the podium in LMC after coming in second last season.
Car number 55 is driven by the newly formed GMB duo consisting of Thomas Andersen and Simon Birch Kristensen. Thomas is brand new at GMB Motorsport, having joined with a background mainly from Motocross, men in 2022 he made his debut on four wheels with a season in KTM X-BOW GT2.
16-year-old Simon Birch Kristensen is returning for his second season at GMB Motorsport, but the young starlet will be trying his luck in an international series for the first time. Last season Simon dominated the Danish Yokohama SuperCup, where he totally outclassed his advisories and was named Talent of the Year by DASU, the main organization of Danish Racing.
